The Greater London Authority worked with the Young Foundation and a range of partners and stakeholders, including voluntary and community groups, to research and develop a Civic Strength Index for London.
This was to take the first step to measuring a range of factors that go towards building a strong community; the data was researched at a very local level and included measures of trust at community level, trust in public bodies, volunteering, civic engagement and participation.
HEAR and its members took part in many workshops and discussions to help develop the index, and were pleased to be part of the panel at the in person launch event at Toynbee Hall in October 2021.
